Bacon-Wrapped Hotdogs and what to do with leftover summer BBQ food
Bacon makes everything better, so naturally wrapping a hotdog with bacon would make that better as well. I find myself trying to figure out how to use leftovers every time I throw any type of party. It seems that I throw many more parties during the summer in the form of BBQs. I decided to come up with some good ways of using the most common leftovers that you will have after a BBQ.
Ingredients:
Bacon
Hot Dog (preferably all beef)
Directions
Wrap hot dog in bacon
Place the bacon-wrapped hotdog in a pan on medium-high heat
Cook each side of bacon until bacon is cooked through and crispy
Remove bacon-wrapped hotdog from the pan
ENJOY!
Hawaiian Style Hotdog
Place your bacon-wrapped hot dog in your bun
Top with your leftover pulled pork or kalua pork
Top with chopped pineapple
Drizzle BBQ sauce or teriyaki sauce on top
Garnish with some thinly sliced green onions
Sonoran Style (ish) Hotdog
Open up hotdog bun and add a small layer of baked beans
Add bacon-wrapped hot dog on top
Add sauteed onions and bell peppers
Drizzle with, mayo, mustard, and ketchup
*optional, garnish with cotija cheese
