Beef Stroganoff
This beef stroganoff is going to blow your mind. This is a creamy sauce that is bursting with flavor! I’ve tried several different recipes, and this variation is by far the BEST beef stroganoff recipe I’ve ever made.
Ingredients:
2 lbs of rib eye (or whatever tender and delicious cut of beef you prefer)
2 tbsp of vegetable oil
1 large onion
3 tbsp of butter
2 tbsp of flour
2 cups of beef broth
1 tbsp of Dijon mustard
2/3 cup of sour cream
Salt and pepper
Optional 10oz of mushrooms sliced
Directions:
Trim your ribeye to your liking.
Cut into 1/4 strips as shown in the video
Heat your pan to medium-high heat
Add 1 tablespoon of your vegetable oil
As soon as the vegetable oil begins to smoke, add some of your beef (don’t crowd the pan)
Lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper.
After 30 seconds, flip the meat over and cook for another 30 seconds
Repeat this process until all of the meat is cooked
Place the meat onto a plate until later (don’t get rid of any of the meat juice from the plate, that’s flavor!)
In the same pan (on medium-high heat), add the butter
Once completely melted, add in your onions and cook (stirring occasionally) for 2-3 minutes or until slightly softened
Add beef broth and mix until completely incorporated
Add dijon mustard and sour cream
Mix everything (stirring regularly) for 2 minutes
Reduce your heat to medium-low and simmer for 5 minutes or until thickened to your liking
Add meat (and meat juices) and stir together
Let simmer for 2 minutes, then remove the pan from heat and serve on top of egg noodles or rice.
ENJOY!
