Mozzarella sticks experiment
Ingredients:
16 strings cheeses (cut off a 1/4 of the string cheese and save it for snacks later)
3 eggs
3/4 cup of Heavy Cream
1 cups of panko Bread Crumbs
1 cup of Cheetos run through a food processor until a powder
1 cup of dorritos run through a food processor until a powder
1 Cup pork rinds run through a food processor until a powder
3/4 cup of Freshly Grated Pariggiano Reggiano
1/2 Tbsp of Italian Seasonsings
½ cup of All Purpose Flour
Salt and Pepper, to taste
Vegetable Oil
Directions:
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream
In a shallow bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, parmiggiano, and your favorite bbq seasoning or Italian seasoning… or whatever seasoning you love the most with all of your heart.
Place the flour on a plate, season with a little salt and pepper and stir together.
Dredge each piece of mozzarella in the flour, dip in the egg mixture and coat them well in the panko bread crumb or other mixtures.
Repeat dipping each one in the egg and coating them in the panko bread crumb again so you have a double coated mozzarella stick.
Put them on a parchment paper lined cooking sheet and freeze for at least 4 hours but preferable over night.
Heat your oil up to 375 degrees. If you don’t have a deep fryer use a dutch oven that is deep enough to safely fry the mozzarella sticks
Place the mozzarella sticks (in batches) in the hot oil and fry them (turning them as needed) until deeply golden brown and crispy.
Place them on a paper towel lined plate and serve immediately with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
ENJOY!!!!
