Philly Cheese Steak Dip
This dip is absolutely AMAZING! Cheesy and meaty. Put this on top of a sliced baguette and you got yourself one of the greatest food combos ever.
Ingredients:
1.5 pounds thinly sliced ribeye or or top sirloin
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 yellow onion, diced
1 tablespoon butter
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
4 oz Velveeta cheese
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
½ pound provolone cheese
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 dash chipotle powder
Directions:
Heat olive oil in a pan until it begins lightly smoking
Add in beef
Add salt and pepper to taste
While cooking break the meat into bite size pieces
Cook meat all the way through. Try a piece of the meat to make sure it has the right amount of salt and pepper to your taste.
Remove meat from pan and put into a mixing bowl to cool
In the same pan add butter and onions until they are softer and translucent (Around 5 to 10 minutes)
Add bell pepper and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes
Add chipotle powder
Add onions and bell pepper to the bowl with the meat
Add cream cheese, provolone cheese, and Worcestershire sauce
Mix everything together
Add to mixture to a tinfoil pan or baking dish
Mix in cubed Velveeta cheese
Add small layer of shredded provolone cheese
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Cook dip for 20 to 30 minutes or until the cheese on top is melted and bubbling
Serve with sliced baguette.
